Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part Time Online Visiting Professors interested in teaching students in our Prelicensure Program. We build long-term relationships with superior nurse educators who are experts in their field and committed to providing the finest in practitioner-focused education.

This is 100% ONLINE teaching, an incredibly flexible and convenient way to share your experience and knowledge with those who aspire to enjoy the career success you already have. We are currently seeking candidates for the March 2019 session which will run from March 4th through April 27th.

Training Provided:

We care for our students and are dedicated to their success. To ensure we are offering the highest quality education we provide thorough training to all new faculty members. Our New Faculty Orientation is a 3 week session, part time and asynchronous, similar to taking online courses. There is no set schedule, you can work at your own pace and will be participating in group discussions, completing assignments, taking quizzes and a final exam.

The specific courses under consideration for the March 2019 session are:

NR-360: Information Systems in Healthcare

The use of electronic databases for clinical practice is the focus of this

course. Skills for asking clinical questions and finding the best evidence

to answer the questions are developed.

NR449 -Evidence-Based Practice

The research process and its contributions to the professional nursing practice are explored. The skills related to reading published research findings with understanding and using best evidence as the basis for professional nursing practice are developed.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Inspire students to complete their programs by providing regular, meaningful feedback about their academic performance, development and participation while encouraging them to engage fully in their education

  • Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions at least 4 days per week, moderating participation, evaluating responses and rationales, and responding to questions or comments

  • Evaluate academic progress and comprehension of course content through assigning and grading quizzes, exams and writing assignments

  • Exhibit Chamberlain Care by displaying behaviors of care, respect and professionalism, creating a culture that fosters collaboration, cooperation and respect among all

  • Be readily available to meet the needs of a student body that is diverse in age, culture and academic preparation

  • Identify and embrace opportunities to enhance student engagement by reaching out to students in need and responding quickly to requests for help

  • Bring your professional experience to life through professional development, introducing industry perspective into courses and sharing information about nursing trends and opportunities with students

  • Promote student success by demonstrating flexibility in style, schedule, and exhibiting your passion for teaching by devoting time and energy to improve scholarly excellence and subject matter expertise

  • Foster a positive learning environment by maintaining accurate records, submitting grades on time, and enforcing academic policies

  • Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.

  • Model effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.

  • Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.

  • Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You are encouraged to explore this opportunity if you meet these requirements:

  • BSN and MSN degree required.

  • Must have an active nursing license. For the March 2019 session, it is highly preferred to have an active Louisianna, New Jersey, or Compact nursing license. Please note that we are considering applicants with licensure in any states, however, applicants may be considered for future sessions if licensure is not from the preferred states.

  • 2+ years teaching experience required preferably in a pre-licensure or BSN program; online teaching experience highly preferred.

  • Must have required subject matter expertise in the areas of instruction.

  • Must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelors of Science in Nursing program studying at our Pearland campus. Chamberlain College of Nursing students have opportunities to experience practice settings that include large and small hospitals, long-term care facilities, community and public-health agencies, faith-based service organizations, independent practices, ambulatory care centers, public health agencies, military services (Army, Navy, and Air Force), VA Medical Centers, schools, home health environments…anywhere healthcare is delivered. Our specialty clinical includes: Pediatric Nursing You will be mentoring students, in a clinical setting, while they demonstrate nursing skills and procedures. Family-centered care of children is the focus of this course, exploring issues of normal child care as well as health alterations of children from infancy through adolescence. Students participate as members of the multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance and rehabilitative care to children and families. Responsibilities * Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and service to the College, community, health system and profession. * Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads. * Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals. * Makes self-available to staff at the agencies. * Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance based on course objectives. * Is available for remediation of students as required or needed. * Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel. * Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs. * Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner. * Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College. * May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator. * Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. * Works with college administration, staff and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates. * Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies. * Serves as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism. * Utilizes relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation. * Complies with all applicable regulatory rules and standards. * Reports to the dean or assistant dean: a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight. * Handles related duties as assigned.
