POSITION SUMMARY
Create a welcoming, comfortable learning environment for students requiring additional academic assistance in Network and Computer Support and related course work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
Provide supplemental instruction, including weekly review sessions, focused on enhancing the understanding of content and developing strategies for studying computer science related subject matter.
Collaborate with faculty through the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of review sessions. Consult with faculty and observe classroom instruction and activities as needed.
Plan, prepare, and develop various teaching tools to enhance student performance.
Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of faculty, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
Create a welcoming, comfortable learning environment to promote success for students requiring additional academic assistance.
Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress. Coach students on developing study skills consistent with learning needs and style.
Collaborate with accommodation services, library services, and other academic coaches to develop strategies to optimize student success and retention.
Attend and participate in various College meetings including faculty team meetings, Quality Review Process and advisory committee meetings.
Collaborate with other Academic Coaches to identify and standardize best practices across all learning teams.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Minimum Associate Degree in IT related field
Experience: A minimum of two years related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Cultural Competence: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and sensitivity to and understanding of a diverse community of college students, faculty, and staff.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Routing, Protocols, Linux command line, CISCO, iOS, MS Windows, MS Office products, Database, Programming knowledge, Cyber Security, Networking, and/or good working knowledge of all the Associate Degree programs: www.nwtc.edu/IT
Other Requirements
Knowledge of adult learning styles and strategies to maximize learning.
Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms.
