Job Summary

The Part-Time Lead Camp Counselor assists with overseeing the youth and activities at the camp.

This is a temporary summer position through August 2024.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversees and organizes an assigned group (or groups) of campers in day to day activities

• Learns the material provided in advance and takes the initiative in preparing and conducting camp activities

• Attends mandatory trainings as required

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• One (1) Year (30 college credits) from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of experience working with children ages 5-12 years old; or High School Diploma or GED equivalent & four (4) years of experience working with children ages 5-12 years old

• CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to receive certification at beginning of Camp program

• Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

• Possess special skills such as: interest in arts, crafts, computers, sports, science, environment, reading or math

• Ability to pass swim test, if required

• Knowledge and training in CPR and First Aid

• Ability to be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time under varied environmental conditions

• Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments

Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
