Job Summary
The Job Placement Specialist provides support and facilitates employment assistance, technology training, work experience, and placement opportunities for students in the corresponding department or program.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides support to employment participants with job counseling, job search, job referrals and other services, as needed
Provides training and assists with workshops across campuses on career development, employability skills, and other services to students
Completes intake and career assessments with participants
Works closely with other areas in identifying eligible students and recruits prospective participants
Identifies and assists with development of paid internships, job placements and other work experience opportunities
Works closely with Job Developer and Director in recruiting potential employers through community relationships to increase available placement opportunities for students
Assist with the planning and logistics of related events
Provides support in collecting, analyzing and reporting of participant data
Collects employer or internship placement feedback on referred participant performance
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree in related area and two (2) years of related experience
All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
Ability to effectively present information in small group settings to project participants and prospective employers
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Possess excellent communication skills
Possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Ability to work a flexible schedule including g evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
