Part-Time Instructor, Web Development - Javascript

Position Description:

• The candidate must have:

• Three (3) years of industry experience using the latest iterations of HTML and CSS (HTML5 and CSS3).

• Three (3) or more years' industry experience using the latest iterations of Java Script.

• Experience with Python a plus.

• Understanding of usability and web accessibility best practices and the ability to instruct in the meeting of these requirements.

• A professional web related certification is required.

• Experience teaching adults is preferred.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in training and teaching others.

• The work schedule for this position requires flexibility to work at least one evening per week as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Essential Job Functions:

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.

• Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.

• Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.

• Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.

• Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.

• Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. - prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.).

• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.

• Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.

• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.

Shift:

Evenings with the availability to teach at least one evening a week as scheduled throughout the spring, summer, and fall terms.

Salary Schedule:

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees.

Hiring Range:

$35 per hour
