Job Summary
The Department of Education and Teacher Preparation seeks applicants to teach undergraduate courses in Elementary/Special Education or Middle Grades Education and/or supervise and mentor teacher candidates in P-12 clinical field placements beginning on August 1st, 2024. Please indicate your preference for working as a course instructor, a teacher candiate field supervisor, or both in your Cover Letter
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Teach a part-time load of courses in educational foundations, elementary pedagogy, and/or middle grades pedagogy.
Prepare syllabi that align with course learning outcomes; implement research-informed and practice-based learning experiences with teacher candidates; and assess course learning outcomes informally, formally, and through performance-based means.
Maintain office hours and collaborate closely with faculty to support the success of our programs and teacher candidates.
Teach courses using in-person, hybrid, or virtual modalities as needed.
Responsibilities
Observe, mentor, and evaluate teacher candidates following the expectations of specific practicum or Internship experience as outlined in the syllabi.
Facilitate pre-lesson and post-lesson reflection conferences with teacher candidates and submit timely evaluations and feedback.
Conduct both in-person and video observation cycles.
Build relationships and facilitate on-going communication between teacher candidates, school-based mentor teachers, administrators, and program faculty.
Attend required field supervisor trainings and teacher candidate professional learning seminars.
