Part-Time Instructor, Hvac Heat Pumps

Position Description:

• At least five (5) years experience operating, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment

• State of Oklahoma Journeyman's license required; State of Oklahoma Contractor's license preferred

• Excellent mechanical aptitude

• Knowledge of and the ability to install and maintain residential and commercial cooling and heating systems

• Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of heating and air conditioning equipment in residential and light commercial buildings

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in training and teaching others

• The work schedule for this position requires flexibility to work one to two nights per week, 6 - 10pm, as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters

Job Functions for all ACD Instructors:

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.

• Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.

• Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.

• Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.

• Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.

• Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. - prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)

• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.

• Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.

Salary Schedule:

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees
