Part-Time Instructional Assistant - Migrant Education - Chester County

At the present time, (1) vacancy exists for a part-time Instructional Assistant for Migrant Education Program (MEP) school-based and virtual programs in the Chester County region within the Migrant Education Program (MEP), Student Services Division of the CCIU. These positions will work with migrant children throughout Chester County.

Qualifications:

1.High School diploma, required

2.Enrolled in college or some college, preferred

3.Bilingual speaking, required (Spanish)

4.Experience working with emerging multilingual students, preferred

5.Experience working with preschool, elementary, and/or secondary school students, preferred

6.Basic computer knowledge, required

7.Must have Act 33 and 34 Clearances

8.Must have Federal Criminal History record

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Assist with implementation of school-based and virtual afterschool educational programs for preschool, elementary, middle and/or high school migrant students residing in Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery, and Bucks counties.

2.Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to provide academic support

3.Document instructional services provided on instructional logs

4.Assist with regular communication with Migrant Education Program staff and families

5.Support family involvement in the education of their children through translation/interpretation, information sharing, training, and referrals

Estimated workdays and hours:

Monday - Friday, 3 hours daily (2:30 - 5:30 pm or 3:00 - 6:00 pm)

Through the end of May

Hourly rate (2023-2024 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below:

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $16.54
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $18.35
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $20.16
• 18 - 21 yrs experience = $21.97
• 22 - 25 yrs experience = $23.78
• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $16.54
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $20.16
