Job Summary
The Instructional Assistant II is responsible for a service or function area within Learning Resources such as: interlibrary loan, serials, reserves, technical services, collection development, and instructional/tutoring support. Provides support to students and helps them with their assignments, software, multi-media projects and information resources.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains and supports a service area in Learning Resources such as: circulation, interlibrary loan, serials, technical services and tutoring
Provides information to users via social media, text/chat services, email or telephone
Assists users in the use of academic software and other information resources
Assists users with technical or computer related questions
Delivers student educational workshops and other outreach activities to promote Learning Resources and services
Secures pricing information and quotes from vendors for Learning Resources purchases
Recommends and evaluates software/hardware applications for Learning Resources
Executes special projects such as inventory and weeding
Recommends college-wide procedures for Learning Resources functions and services
Collects statistical data for college-wide Learning Resources reports
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of library experience, or any combination of education and work experience
All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, departmental software applications and basic research methodology
Knowledge and understanding of college organization: admission, academic regulations, programs of study, departmental regulations, goals and objectives, and College policies and procedures
Proficient verbal and written communication skills Ability to analyze data and summarize
Ability to speak effectively before groups
