PART-TIME Human Resources Support Specialist
PAY is $18.00-$20.00/hour
HOURS: 25 hours/week with some flexibility on schedule
STATUS: Part-Time
Job Responsibilities
Provide support to the Human Resources department and others as directed. Ensure the overall new hire and termination processes are compliant, employee verifications are received and processed within stringent timelines, filing, retrieving, faxing, and copying documents (employee, client, and other miscellaneous), and other duties as assigned.
Job Functions
Ensure all new hires are entered into the state database
Answer and screen incoming telephone calls; assist callers and take messages as required
Assist with employees needing troubleshooting in HRIS; re-setting passwords and making corrections to the entry of new hires in the HRIS
Personnel Action Forms, Progressive Discipline Forms, and Separation Notice forms
Follow-up with the client regarding missing items
Completion of separation forms with the employees' working state
Completion of address changes
Ensure items are saved in company HRIS document files
Process background check credentials for all new applicants as required; follow up with client on the status of background check requests
Assist with the preparation for special events
Distribution of the mail to the HR department
Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly
Assumes other duties and or special projects as assigned by the HR team

Office hours are 8:00 am- 5:00 pm; part-time schedule can vary within that window

Microsoft Outlook, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom
Standard computers, printers, and scanners
Fax/Copy machine
HRIS Software
Telephone system/voicemail
Postage machine
Reliable transportation
Education and Experience
High School Degree or equivalency required plus one year of office /clerical support; prior HR experience preferred.
Skills
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
Word processing skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills
Self-motivated
Flexible and adaptable
High attention to details
Ability to complete tasks from start to finish
Able to execute written and verbal tasks timely
Ability to work in a team environment
