Job Title: D21 Part-Time Front Server

Reports Directly To: Culinary Arts Director

Job Group: Hourly

Salary Range: $12 per hour

Position Closing Date: Open Until Filled

Primary Function: Welcomes and warmly greets guests on arrival. This position manages the efficient and timely seating of our guests. Handles phone reservations and other related hosts stand responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides support to the kitchen supervisor.

  • Warmly greets all guests upon their arrival and departure.

  • Maintains pleasant and friendly professionalism at all times.

  • Handles reservations, in person and on the phone and maintains an updated reservation book and daily/nightly seating charts.

  • Seats guests when tables are available.

  • Responsible for the general cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned work area(s) and assists with the general cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant.

  • Participates in professional growth activities such as conferences and in-service meetings.

  • Works collaboratively as an effective member of the team.

  • Maintains professional competence.

  • Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year recent experience directly related to host/hostess duties in a restaurant, hotel, quick service restaurant, or other similar hospitality outlet.

  • Experience with Micros is preferred.

  • Completion of a training program in culinary arts or stewardship count as experience.

  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and have a desire to be part of a team member.

Working Conditions:

Long periods of standing, ability to lift 25 pounds, 50 pounds with lift assistance. Low-level machine noise is encountered the majority of every day. Work with sharp knives and around hot stoves and other standard kitchen equipment. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.

Organizational Relationship:

Part-time, personnel position reports directly to Culinary Arts Director who is responsible for supervision.

Contract Details:

Twelve-month contract subject to annual renewal. Working Tuesday - Friday afternoon/evening hours (4:30pm-8:30pm) not to exceed 19 hours per week. At the end of July/first of August, when evening classes are not in session for D21 Restaurant instruction, other duties may be assigned to include daytime working hours opportunity.
