Part-Time Instructor of Music: Jazz
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
An earned masters degree in Music

Responsibilities
Develop and direct curricular jazz ensemble(s) within the context of a music program with historic instrumental enrollment emphases in strings, voice, piano and guitar
Teach regularly in at least one area of the greater Music and/or Music Education curricula in addition to jazz offerings
Actively participate in recruitment of students to the Music and Music Education majors
Required Qualifications
An earned master's degree in Music
Successful jazz ensemble directing and music teaching experience
At least one of the qualifications listed below under ¿Desired Qualifications¿
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to teach Music Education methods courses in either Woodwinds or Percussion
Ability to teach courses in music technology and other areas in an interdisciplinary departmental concentration in audio production/music business
Ability to teach applied lessons in both classical and jazz styles and recruit a studio in one of the following areas: single reeds, brass, percussion, guitar
Ability to teach other courses integral to the Music and/or Music Education majors
