The SULA Program within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach CRS 360 Communication Strategies in Sports, a three-credit hour course, May 13, 2024 through May 24, 2024.
Student athletes will be introduced to the principles of persuasive verbal and nonverbal communication and networking in the sports industry. As part of their accelerated course, they will learn how to craft and structure compelling stories, speeches, pitches, and presentations for short-form and long-form communication; how to use charisma, persuasion, and humor in networking, job interviews, meetings, and on-air events; how to employ active listening and emotionally intelligent oral communication in professional disagreements and misunderstandings; and practice a variety of evidence-based communication techniques that will allow them be persuasive networkers and speakers throughout their professional careers.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required, masters degree preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications
Experience teaching courses in communication and putting together courses with guest speakers and site visits.
Responsibilities
Teach courses each day for two weeks, develop the curriculum and set up guests and site visits. Grade presentations.
Preparation of lectures, develop class projects and other student assignments.
