The Department of Film and Media Arts within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach CAR 101.3, Introduction to 3D Animation, a three-credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2024.
CAR 101 Introduction to 3D Animation is the first course in a three course series focuses on concepts, aesthetics, and practice of 3D animation and visual effects. This course is an introduction to modeling, texturing, digital-sculpting and shading and animation.

Qualifications
BFA or MFA in Animation or related fields or equivalent experience.
Two semesters of college level teaching required.
Significant experience with a variety of animation production techniques required.
Job Specific Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of digital animation production techniques and pipeline in 3D animation.
Extensive experience with Blender or Maya.
Responsibilities
Teaching a 4-hour studio course once a week, grading, class prep, office hours, field trips, etc.
In addition:
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
