Niagara County Community College has a need for a part time instructor to teach an evening section of Microeconomics on Thursdays at our main campus. The appointment will begin on January 16th for the Spring 2024 semester with the possibility of additional future sections. Part time instructors will also be responsible completing mandatory New York State compliance trainings. This class is face-to-face on the NCCC main campus located in Sanborn, New York. Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus.

Remuneration for this position is: $884 per lecture hour/$792 per lab hour.

Typical Work Activities

  • Teach Economics course

  • Help students during a designated office hour

  • Attend and participate in meetings as necessary

  • Complete NYS compliance trainings

  • Adhere to attendance and College grading policies

Essential Functions

Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Economics, or an M.B.A. degree with a minimum of 12 graduate school hours in economics.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Any teaching experience, but preferably experience teaching in a college, particularly in a community college.

NCCC continues to actively expand with the recent opening of its Learning Commons Center, a $25 million dollar project on the Sanborn campus.
