Job Summary
This Part-Time Instructor is responsible for teaching Health and Wellness courses.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
In accordance with Rule 6A-14.064, F.A.C., College Credit Dual Enrollment Courses offered at secondary school locations, this position requires all candidates be employed by an authorized MDC Dual Enrollment secondary school partner. Candidates must meet Miami Dade College Faculty Credential Statement faculty teaching qualifications, including SACSCOC's Principles of Accreditation minimum criteria: A Master's degree in the teaching discipline of the assigned course(s) or a Master's degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline of the assigned course(s).

Evaluates and advises students
Develops curricula
Recruits students
Serves on committees
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in discipline or a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and 18 graduate credit hours in discipline from an accredited institution
Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education or Sports Science; or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in field.
In addition, for HSC 2400, current certification (recertification required every two years) as an Instructor in (1) First Aid validated by either the American Red Cross (ARC) or Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ESCI) and in (2) Basic Life Support (BLS) validated by the American Heart Association (AHA).
All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Possess excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with students
Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
Must be able to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
