POSITION: Part-Time Driver

John Boner Neighborhood Centers (JBNC) is seeking a Part-Time Driver to play a vital role in safely transporting individuals and groups to and from programs and activities. As part of the JBNC team, you'll be an essential part of improving the community of the Near Eastside of Indianapolis - and the lives of the people in it!

This is a part-time, Monday-Friday position (approximately 10-15 hours per week), including evening hours.

Here's what a day as a Part-Time Driver might look like:

• Providing reliable, safe transportation to individuals and groups participating in John Boner Neighborhood Centers' programs and activities

• Ensuring accurate data collection and entry, including mileage tracking and data on persons transported

• Preparing a schedule and determining the most efficient routes

• Taking ownership of vehicle maintenance by completing the vehicle inspection sheet and notifying your supervisor immediately if any repairs are needed

• Assisting clients in safely getting in and out of the vehicle, especially children, the handicapped and the elderly

• Driving safely and observing and enforcing all laws and regulations about the transportation of passengers

• Adhering to a culture of respect, care and quality customer service

• You are a safe driver. As a Part-Time Driver, you will be operating a van or bus to transport people to and from various parts of Indianapolis and in all kinds of weather conditions.

These are things we are looking for from a Part-Time Driver:

• A GED, high school diploma or equivalent

• Must possess a CDL-B commercial license with a "P" passenger endorsement and "S" school bus endorsement

• A safe driving record

• Demonstrated ability to operate a van or bus

• Ability to lift moderately heavy objects and to push an occupied wheelchair

• CPR certification (child and adult) or the ability to obtain certifications

• We welcome bi-lingual, Spanish-speaking candidates.
