Definition
This is a Part-time entry-level, administrative support position with the City's Communication Department. An individual in this position will be one of two front line contacts located in the City Hall lobby. This individual will respond to customer inquiries in-person, electronically and via telephone regarding City programs and services, responding with accurate, timely and courteous customer service.
Examples of Work
Resolve inquiries by either answering the question or transferring the call to an appropriate person or explaining the internal process or procedures; maintain records of customer interactions, services provided, details of inquiries, complaints, comments and actions taken;
Complete forms, prepare changes of address in database and issue service orders via computer;
Process new and renewable alarm permits, including payment and issuance of permit;
Deliver incoming mail to department mail slots;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Subject to 24-hour recall.
Education, Experience, or Certification
High School Diploma or General Educational Development Certificate and some financial and call center experience, customer service center or comparable setting, ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute. Bilingual (Spanish) applicants are highly desired.
