The City of Wylie is now seeking experienced custodial staff to join our team! The selected applicants will perform a full range of custodial and building services duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities.
SUPERVISION
Supervision is provided by the Facilities Manager.
Essential Job Functions
Clean and disinfect office areas, public meeting areas and restroom facilities including fixtures, sinks, urinals and toilets; and replenish supplies in restrooms.
Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors; vacuum and clean carpets.
Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, and fixtures.
Wash windows, mirrors, and door glass.
Clean tables and countertops.
Empty, clean, and disinfect waste receptacles.
Remove waste and recyclables from buildings and transport to designated collection areas.
Identify and report maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Provide the supervisor with a list of supplies and materials needed.
Performs as a responsible steward of the public trust and strives for excellence in public service, enhancing the quality of life for all.
Acts in a civil, respectful manner at all times to management, co-workers and others.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Preferred a minimum of 6 months custodial experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Moderate: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
