Gwinnett County Health and Human Services administers programs, manages senior centers and senior services programs (home delivered meals, transportation, homemaker services, information and assistance, and case management), a community center, and two "One-Stop" centers that provide space to bring a variety of community programs and agencies.
This class is responsible for safely preparing, cooking and serving food, ensuring the cleanliness of food preparation area by mopping, sweeping, cleaning dishes, equipment and removing trash, and maintaining a sanitary environment.
This is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
This position will require fingerprinting.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Valid Georgia driver's license
Minimum of two years prior culinary experience preferred
ServSafe Manager Certificationpreferred
CPR, First Aid Certified preferred (must attain with the first six (6) months of employment or at the discretion of the department)
Must be able to pass fingerprint & background check
Must be available to work a variety of hours,Monday through Friday anywhere from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Positions in this class typically require:
Strong interpersonal skills in order to successfully relay or convey information to supervisor, peers and clients
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work standing for long periods of time
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing;
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, and extreme temperatures.
