William Temple House Seeks Part Time Clinical Supervisor

Mission / Organization / Department:

At William Temple House (WTH), we offer food, counseling, clothing, and household items to our Portland-area neighbors. Our vision is that everyone in our community is fully nourished. Founded in 1965, WTH has a budget of $2.4 million and 28 staff members (26 FTE).Our team is comprised of 4 staff members, and 4 contracted counselors. Our program has close partnerships with local universities and regularly recruits and trains 15-20 interns per year. As an agency we serve a wide variety of clients in our programs, including people who are immigrants, people of color, LGBTQIA+, younger, older, and with disabilities. We are proud of our reputation for providing quality counseling to people who otherwise may not have access to services.

Current Opportunity:

The Clinical Supervisor is an integral part of the counseling department and helps oversee the support and education of our 15-20 graduate level interns each year. This role provides leadership and mentorship to students in their first year of direct practice by providing individual and group supervision, seminar instruction, and session shadowing, as well as assistance and consultation during crisis situations. Clinical Supervisors influence and support program policies and have an incredible impact on the client experience through the supervision and education they provide to students. The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Director of Training & Clinical Services and will help move our department and community forward by providing clinical supervision to new therapists around topics such as identity and role development, boundaries and communication techniques. Supervisors and counselors are encouraged to use various therapeutic modalities and interventions, diagnosis, clinical documentation, and crisis intervention to support clients and a supervisor should feel well informed on these skills to support students. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow and advance their clinical supervision skills, stay rooted in community mental health, connect with a team of experienced and engaging clinicians, and still have time and space for outside ventures or opportunities. Link to home page and full job description: www.williamtemple.org.
