Job Description:

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system is seeking an hourly Part-Time Certified Athletic Trainer to start in the 2024-2025 academic year. Reporting to the head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director, this position will assist in overseeing walk-in-hour service and provide general coverage of athletic activities; provide coverage for athletic teams during home events or practices as well as provide care for visiting teams when they are unable to provide their own medical staff; complete documentation of injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitative procedures.

The Part-Time Certified Athletic Trainer will provide students with preventative-care taping techniques, injury evaluation, physician or other healthcare provider referral, and minimal rehabilitative care; act as a liaison between local physicians and physical therapists with the healthcare of students in mind; recordkeeping of walk-in visits, documenting use of service. The successful candidate must possess effective communication, organization and human relation skills and have the ability to work well in a diverse environment; must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Office applications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Requirements:

Required: Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience working with athletic teams; possess a National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certificate; CPR/AED certification.

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred: Master's Degree and three or more years of experience with one or all the following sports: soccer, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, softball or baseball; three or more years of First Aid and CPR/AED instructor certification; certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Additional Information:

$26/hr.
