Job Title: Part Time Career Advisor
(Position physically located at Cashion and Crescent Public Schools)
Department: Career Planning Center
Reports Directly To: Director, Career Planning Center
Job Group: Exempt/Certified
Salary Range: $25 per hour
Position Closing Date: Open until filled
Primary Function of Position: Operate in a team environment to provide skilled/professional consultation, career advising and guidance, planning and implementation, resources, programs, and information that will enable students to develop a fully integrated career plan. This will be accomplished in such a way that students are aware of career options available to them to reach their post-secondary goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist with transitional 8th to 9th grade activities, orientations, advisement, and parent nights.
In coordination with the high school counselors and teachers, meet with each student and parent (if possible) during their freshman and/or sophomore year to revisit or develop a comprehensive plan of study. In developing the plan of study, any assessment and the student's career interests will be discussed.
Maintain records of all activities and verify populations served.
Communicate and coordinate with the Francis Tuttle Career Readiness Team to organize tours of Francis Tuttle Technology Center programs and academies.
Assist counselors in providing necessary information and facilitating enrollment of FTTC students.
Serve as point of contact for special programs/activities with career focus; e.g., career fairs, career workshops, non-traditional career activities, internships, job shadowing, etc.
As a member of the counseling staff, assist with the administration, interpretation, and dissemination of student results for any career interest inventories for all students.
Maintain connections with current Francis Tuttle students to provide services to aide in the retention and success of these students within their chosen career program.
Assist with ICAP instruction and planning for Cashion and Crescent students.
Attend meetings with Francis Tuttle Technology Center counseling personnel.
Attend relevant career counselor professional development as requested, including but not limited to the August Conference.
Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
Master's degree with secondary counseling certification required.
Experience in career and technology education preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of successful counseling and advisement experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and direction.
Ability and desire to maintain/manage an efficient, well organized office area.
Ability to understand and meet critical deadlines.
Exceptional verbal communication skills.
Strong written communication demonstrated in both letter and email.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office components (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects with a sense of urgency.
Strong flexibility, time management, and organizational skills.
Anticipate needs, be resourceful and have ability to build strong employee partnerships within the organization and at Cashion and Crescent High Schools.
Ability to consistently deliver superior customer service and work quality to internal and external customers.
Ability to travel between Cashion and Crescent High Schools.
Working Conditions:
Long periods of sitting. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. Concentrated visual effort is required. Extensive communication with internal and external customers. Will require travel between schools. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
Organizational Relationship:
Part-time personnel position reports directly to the Director of Career Planning Center. Evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy.
Contract Details:
Ten-month contract (August-May) subject to annual renewal. Working days and hours may vary week to week: Monday through Friday, times dependent on high school needs. Not to exceed 24 hours per week.
