Job Summary

This position is responsible for directing the student registration process and for managing the maintenance of student records.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities -

  • Assists with creating and maintaining student academic records in the computerized student database system (Banner); assures accuracy and confidentiality of records; Serves as the College's Official Custodian of Student Records in compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act and FERPA.

  • Mentor Associate Registrar in the release of student transcripts and the regular distribution of computerized reports to faculty, administrators, and the Board of Regents; oversees the dissemination of student information to faculty and provides pertinent academic and student information to faculty and staff, as needed.

  • Guide the chief transfer officer, in the process for evaluating previous college credits for students. Acts as chief residency officer and Principal Designated School Official for Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

  • Supports through mentoring, the degree audit process, including management of DegreeWorks, and assures that students have met the requirements necessary for graduation.

  • Performs related work as required.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Masters degree in a related field

Required Experience

  • At least five years of senior administrative experience in registration/ or enrollment systems in a post-secondary institution

  • Supervision of full-time employees and demonstrated, effective management of department resources (budget, equipment, personnel, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of Banner and knowledge of the University System of Georgia

  • Three years of senior administrative experience in a Registrars Office

  • Collaborate with a wide cross-section of senior administrators, faculty, alumni, staff and students.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Ability to work strategically, including developing, planning, and implementing short- and long-range goals.

  • Strong data analytics and interpretation abilities

KNOWLEDGE

  • Extensive knowledge of higher education records and registration practices in management and registration, including extensive experience with student information systems and reporting software.

SKILLS

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills; excellent human relations skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
