Minimum Hourly Rate:

$18.88

Job Description:

College for Kids at Aims Community College provides and education summer program for students ages 9-15. The classes that are offered by this program are educational and inspiring while the environment is fun, creative and inviting.

Each day participants will take two classes with a lunch break midday. Morning courses will run from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Afternoon courses will run from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Classroom Assistants will work 8am-5pm and allow for some flexibility in their schedule.

College for Kids will have sessions in Fort Lupton, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley locations:

Fort Lupton: June 5-8

Windsor: June 12-15

Loveland: June 19-22

Greeley: June 26-29

Job Duties:

  • Sole responsibility of student safety throughout the program including but not limited to: Asist with check in, transition between classes, bathroom breaks, snacks, lunch/recess, and check out.

  • Ability to adapt and navigate situations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assists C4K Instructors with classroom setup/breakdown and student/classroom management.

  • Communicate with the C4K Coordinator effectively via verbal communication, phone call, or email communication.

  • Ability to become familiar with and be able to navigate all Aims campuses including the Fort Lupton, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley campus.

  • Communicate with students, families and coworkers effectively both interpersonally and electronically.

  • Answers C4K inquiries.

  • Availability to travel to Fort Lupton, Windsor, Loveland, and Greeley campuses upon request.

  • Assist C4K Coordinator with administrative tasks including but not limited to: email/phone communication to families and community partners, accessing class rosters via the Lumens registration system, develop sign-in/sign-out materials on Excel, assemble classroom binders, obtain student information via the registration system, organize class and Instructor information using Google Docs and Excel, contact families, inventory and organize all program supplies including classroom and office.

Additional duties during the weeks of College for Kids:

  • Abide by the mission of Aims Community College: To provide knowledge and skills to advance quality of life, economic vitality, and overall success of the communities we serve.

  • Support the values of Aims Community College: communication, safety, respect and professionalism, trust.

  • Attend the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and adheres to the agreed upon work schedule.

  • Create new community partnerships and recruit new potential staff members by means of promoting the program throughout the community through word of mouth, distributing flyers and maintain community relationships.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: This position will work 20-40 hours a week while the program is in session. This is a temporary position and expected to last until July 1.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be 16 or older and authorized to work in the United States on a full or part-time basis

  • Knowledge of computers and online platforms such as Facebook and Lumens

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge in Zoom and Google programs and ability to troubleshoot software and classroom technology.

  • Experience working in fast paced environments

  • Minimum 2 years of interacting with minors in a structured setting such as; being a parent, daycare provider, teacher, teacher's assistant, babysitter, etc

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR / First Aid certificate. Training is available prior to the start of the program
