Part-Time Arts Academy Teacher - Woodwinds

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of the Arts Academy, the Woodwinds teacher provides instruction in Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, and/or Bassoon through private lessons and group classes. The Arts Academy Woodwinds teacher will offer professional guidance and instruction to students of all ages and levels, and will teach with knowledge and expertise.

Work schedule will depend on the number of classes and students assigned. All lessons and classes are scheduled for Monday through Friday, primarily in the afternoon and up to 8:00PM. Some weekend performances will be required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of undergraduate degree required and experience in Music or related field.

• Experience required in teaching Woodwind instruments.

• Ability to teach Woodwinds at all levels of ability, beginning to advanced.

• Ability to relate personally to students and parents in a cordial and professional manner.

• Must demonstrate proficiency in playing Woodwind instruments.

• Experience in ensemble participation.

• Must be reliable and dependable in keeping lesson times and in communicating with students and parents when cancellations or changes in schedules must be made.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work and work independently as needed.

• Excellent time management skills necessary.
