Job Description: This position performs complex clerical work which requires the utilization of typing skills and the application of independent judgment. Work normally involves making independent decisions concerning the clerical process to be followed, the appropriateness of the information to be processed, and the actions taken.
Essential Functions of Job:
Serves as administrative support to the Early Intervention Unit.
Types and copies letters, reports, memos and other documents as required by program staff.
Handles the various steps for opening a new referral for the Early Intervention Program.
Enters pertinent information on the Early Intervention referral website. Receives information from the providers regarding availability times for services, contacts families with availability offers, confirms acceptance of times with providers and enters information into the PELICAN system.
Enters and updates pertinent information in the internal Client Database for new/current Early Intervention consumers.
Sets up Early Intervention files in Laserfiche. Scan Early Intervention consumer documents into Laserfiche.
Additional Primary Job Duties:
Compiles the Early Intervention referral booklets and maintains the information used in the makeup of the booklets.
Assists department staff with special projects, reports or assignments as requested.
Other Duties of Job:
Attend meetings and trainings as needed.
Operates computer and software programs and any other office equipment as necessary to carry out jobduties.
Minimum Experience and Training:
One year of progressively complex clerical experience and completion of high school; OR Six months of moderately complex clerical experience and completion of a post high school business curriculum; OR Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge and abilities.

Meritorious service: defined as the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12-months preceding the closing date of the posting.
