Must become familiar with the Federal Drug testing guidelines and procedures as they apply to a motor carrier. Must undergo DER and Reasonable Suspicion training, provided by the College. Associate's degree in a business related discipline or a closely related field and one (1) year of work related experience; OR a High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years related work experience.
Responsible for performing varied and complex duties to support the Commercial Truck Driving Program at our Hall County campus. Provides general information about the CTD program and its admissions requirements to walk-ins and callers.
Works with prospective Commercial Truck Driving students who have met the general admissions requirements to the program by assisting with the paperwork required to receive a physical and a drug screening. Must handle paperwork received back from the physicians' offices in a confidential manner and communicate back with Admissions the students who have met the additional requirements for full admission to the program. Oversees the drug testing program and records retention of the CTD program.
Works with lab to ensure receipt of drug & alcohol screening records. Keeps student records and drug/alcohol test results confidential. Inputs student information (including screening results) to Student Info Spreadsheet.
Maintains student files for three years. Registers incoming students that have met all admissions requirements for the program. Assists program director with advisement sessions, usually occurring just once prior to each class session in the evening between 6 and 7pm. Other administrative duties as assigned by the CTD Program Director or Dean.
This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. NOTE: A background check is part of the selection process.
