Part-Time Access Nurse (Rn)

Mass General Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Access Nurse (RN) to join our world-class Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the patient experience in a community setting.

Responsibilities:

• Triage all new patient requests for hematology and oncology, including cancer diagnoses, second opinions, and transitions of care to the community.

• Serve as the first point of contact with clinical team members, providing knowledgeable support in oncology and cancer care.

• Determine the necessary information and records needed for the first visit to be valuable for both the patient and providers.

• Collaborate with the administrative and clinical team to coordinate the first available appointment with the appropriate expert provider(s).

• Triage classical and malignant hematology, as well as solid tumor cancers (excluding breast cancer).

• Experience in oncology care.

• Effective collaboration with patients and the care team.

• Proficiency in EHR review, Excel, Word, Teams, and the ability to learn additional electronic platforms.

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School.

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts.

• Certificate as a provider of BLS.

• BSN strongly preferred.

• OCN certification desirable.

• Experience in medical oncology care.

• Willingness to learn the workflows of multiple disease specialties and cover any that are trained.
