The College of Agricultural Sciences, Penn State Extension

  • Wayne County seeks to hire a part-time 4-H Administrative Assistant. This individual will serve as a member of the Wayne County Extension team and will assist Extension Educators in managing the 4-H program.

    The individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: 4-H Online enrollment system maintenance; Manage county 4-H website and social media presence; Scheduling appointments, meetings, programs and assist in coordination of 4-H volunteers; Help with on-boarding of new 4-H leaders and provide support to existing 4-H leaders as needed; Develop and manage news releases for Penn State Extensions programs; Work with educators to provide program advertisements and follow-up news releases; Effectively use word-processing, database, graphic/presentation and spreadsheet software application/programs in course of assigned duties; Work with all clientele in a courteous and friendly manner; Respond to telephone or written inquires within appropriate time limits; Perform other duties as assigned or requested. This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. As part of this mission, the unit of External Awards and Reconciliation in the office of the Bursar/Student Financial Services (SFS) is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time position as an Accounting Assistant 4. This position is responsible for reviewing daily incoming wire payments and posting wire and check payments received for alternative loan programs, military programs, and external awards. This position will work closely with the Office of Student Aid to process return of loan funds forms and assist with processing escheated refund checks with Title IV funds. The accounting assistant is also responsible for reviewing student accounts to ensure accurate and timely posting of payments and refunds. The position will assist with processing scholarship checks during high volume times and will be called upon to assist with internal reconciliations as needed. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration or related field is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software and knowledge of financial and student systems is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing, strong organizational skills, and proven record of success as a member of a professional team are desirable. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard Pennstate University Park PA
