The Dallastown Area School District seeks a Part-Time, 10-Month Paraprofessional for the Library of our Dallastown Area Intermediate School (Grades 4-6).
You'll play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting the School Librarian who provide students and staff with an enriched library environment containing materials in varied formats that will invite intellectual growth and to assist students in acquiring the skills needed to be effective users of ideas and information.
Your work schedule and pay would follow student attendance full and half days during the school year -- approximately 180 student days mid-August through early June in a full school year -- with full-day hours of 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM, which includes 5.50 work hours and a half-hour unpaid lunch. Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor.
You would enjoy summers off, immediate inclusion/continuation in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) through payroll contributions, Thanksgiving Day holiday pay at your per diem rate, and a December Holiday Break stipend amount of $300 issued the second pay in January. After a Probationary Period of 90 calendar days, you would also be eligible for paid leave (personal and sick days).
General Responsibilities:
Aiding in the supervision of students
Assisting in the management of library materials and activities
Performing routine clerical work
Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
Acceptable record of attendance
Completion and submission of all mandated pre-employment documents and information
Such additions or alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable consistent with applicable Pennsylvania law, regulations and requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education
