Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a new Maintenance Associate II to work in the Parks and Recreation Department.This is a full-time position and is critical to the day to day operations of the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will perform a variety of maintenance work, which contributes to the upkeep, care and maintenance of the Town's infrastructure.

This position is required to work the p.m. shift (2 pm - 10:30 pm), holidays, and *weekends.

• Weekend schedule: day shift available on rotation.

Expected Hiring Range: $17.87hr - $21.89/hr

Salary Range: $17.87/hr - $25.91/hr

• Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget

Examples of Duties

• Tracks and manages work orders, work flow, materials and supplies.

• Performs routine semi-skilled maintenance and/or landscaping tasks.

• Inspects cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems.

• Performs work duties and operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.

• May be required to work around inmates.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training

• Over one year experience in commercial or residential landscaping, commercial/custodial manual labor, or related field

• Must pass a pre-employment physical, a 50-pound lift test, and audiogram

• Valid Arizona driver license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions maybe considered.
