Coordinates the daily operations of a Fort Bend County Community Center. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for the department.

Responsibilities

  • Enters agenda items for the Parks Department through the county Agenda Quick system. Attends weekly agenda briefings and presents items in the briefing on behalf of the Parks Department, as needed.

  • Processes invoices in county purchasing system, receives invoices for assigned locations; i.e. paying monthly bills pertaining to the operations of the community center and the parks department, as well as contractual payments to partnered nonprofits.

  • Monitors and requisitions supplies through county purchasing system; receives and inventories supplies. Establishes and maintains relationship with vendors, tracks and monitors budget expenditures; recommends equipment expenditures; assists with preliminary budget preparation.

  • Advises patrons of the availability of facilities and activities and prepares documentation for facility use. Collects fees, issues receipts. Responsible for coordinating deposit collections for the department. Prepares invoice transmittals for refunds. Assists with reconciling accounts for refunds with Auditing.

  • Assists department in generating a reservation system for sports fields, pavilions, and community center reservations. Makes revisions to reservation forms, as needed.

  • Responsible for entering work orders when needed.

  • Provides administrative support to department by assisting employees with questions/problems regarding benefits; reports and records accidents; receives confidential drug screenings; designs department forms. Provides support to employees on the use of iNovah; i.e. receiving payments through the county iNovah system, and creating iNovah reports for the county auditor and treasury department.

  • Assists other employee with their duties; recommends personnel actions, selection of part-time employees, discipline and performance appraisal ratings.

  • Answers and responds to incoming telephone calls and/or routes services calls to supervisors.

  • Processes work orders in the county Facility Dude system for maintenance issues when required.

  • Assists with Parks Department social media outlet Facebook.

  • Monitors daily timesheets and computes biweekly payroll; maintains records, logs, files for confidential personnel records.

  • Assists with Records Management to meet state and federal regulations.

  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED. Business vocational school training.

  • 5 years job related experience.

  • Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM); strong Windows, Word and Excel skills. Good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials and outside agencies. Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner; strong organizational skills; accounting/bookkeeping skills preferred.

  • Valid Driver's License

SALARY RANGE: $19.71-$24.63 /per hour

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
