Department Information

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) at Georgia Tech is an auxiliary unit within the Division of Infrastructure and Sustainability (I&S). PTS interfaces with the entire campus population and constituencies external to campus. The services provided by PTS are as diverse and customer oriented as the consumers served. PTS oversees both the campus parking operations and transportation services.

The Parking Department is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all campus parking services for Georgia Tech. It self-operates a comprehensive parking program that includes customer service, cashiering, enforcement, maintenance, and event operations.

The Transportation Department manages a comprehensive network of transit services designed to provide the campus community with an effective and safe transportation alternative around the campus and within specific boundaries or destinations off campus. The department's transit services include nine Stinger bus routes, daytime student paratransit van service, and Stingerette van service, which provides nighttime safe ride home services on campus.

Job Summary

Manage day-to-day parking and transportation operations of Georgia Tech and Technology Square portfolio of parking garages and surface parking lots to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective service for faculty, staff, students, and visitors to the campus. Coordinate, plan, and manage major and minor campus events (I.e.

FASET, graduation, football, basketball, swim meets, student move-in/out, FERST Center performances, academic sponsored events, etc.) as well as direct enforcement and dispatch. Represent the department as operational liaison for parking and/or transportation support of all campus activities. Resolve parking/access issues, coordinating unscheduled or last minute parking requests and administratively adjudicating citations, booting and towing of vehicles.

Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with department leadership, Sr. Operations Manager, Sr.

Facilities Manager, Technology Square and Facility Managers and Supervisors, dispatch, transportation, enforcement, facilities staff, contractors, campus visitors, faculty, staff and students. The position will supervise: operations staff and third party special event vendors.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Manage day to day operations of all parking garages and surface lots, including special event parking and related parking and enforcement; Manage and monitor parking systems on a daily basis, maintenance of equipment and inventory, and parking enforcement programs; plan, train and direct the activities of contractors; and monitor the transportation system.

Job Duty 2 -

Ensure that all facilities within purview of responsibility operates in accordance with University policy including revenue control, equipment maintenance, proper accurate signage and flow of parking operations.

Job Duty 3 -

Work with the Director of Parking and Senior Director of Maintenance to assist in repairing parking facilities and equipment and to conduct regular field audits to evaluate functionality through testing of parking equipment.

Job Duty 4 -

Work with the Director of Parking and Senior Director of Operations to manage the parking enforcement and dispatch operations for adherence to proper operational procedures in accordance with GT policies and established parking rules and regulations.

Job Duty 5 -

Oversee management of special events and enforcement personnel (GT and contracted employees) to include coordination and scheduling of parking needs, staffing and sales; implementation of controls to minimize the occurrence of parking in unauthorized locations; provision of vehicular traffic control during special events and in high volume areas on campus during peak hours; coordinate installation and maintenance of traffic, direction and information signage on campus grounds.

Job Duty 6 -

Work closely with Director Parking and Finance to assist in determining fiscal requirements, make projections and develop annual operating budgets.

Develop and promote a customer first approach that ensures that customer satisfaction is maximized by fostering a work environment that values and promotes diversity, integrity, collegiality, collaboration and Service Excellence; Assist all customers in resolving parking and transportation concerns and facilitating access to their campus destination.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

Five to seven years of job related experience

Computer experience with Power Park/Flex Scan Net and MS Office preferred

SKILLS

Must be customer service focused with a friendly disposition and smile. Ability to perform data entry and electronic mail services.

Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to supervise, train, motivate and lead a team of individuals around a common goal. Must be able to stay calm in stressful, fast paced special event situations and be able adapt to changes in the work environment.

Must be able to deal effectively with conflict. Must have the ability to effectively respond positively to customer problems and/or complaints. Must be able to apply common sense understanding and good judgment to resolve common problems and carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions.

Other Information

Salary: $52,894.00 - $61,500.00 commensurate with experience

Location: Due to the responsibilities of this position, this role requires an onsite presence at Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus (100%).
