Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist customers entering/exiting Town parking decks and lots and monitoring any activity around these Town parking facilities. These positions will work less than 20 hours a week, in the evenings and weekends.

This position is open until filled and is subject to close without notice.

Essential Functions

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide customer service by promptly greeting customers; responding to inquiries regarding general division policies and procedures; making referrals to appropriate resources as indicated; maintains an inviting and orderly workplace that is welcoming to customers

  • Prepares daily shift reports; inspects facilities; assists with parking inventory management by monitoring daily vehicles list; understands the permit system for a gated parking facility; performs inventory of gate equipment for needed supplies

  • Overseas mechanized gated parking equipment; performs periodic inspection of attendant booth and reports damage, malfunctions or issues to supervisor or appropriate staff in a timely manner; adjusts inventory counter; performs minor adjustments to ticket dispenser and barrier as needed; changes out tickets/paper.

  • Assists with parking control for special events and places signage where needed; assists with monitoring and clearing event staging areas for Town events

  • Performs other duties as required

Physical Demands:

The work is typically performed while standing or stooping, with intermittent sitting and a lot of walking. The employee uses equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity and strength. The work requires pushing, pulling, carrying or lifting up to 25 lbs. The work is typically performed while sitting standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stopping.

Work Environment:

The work is typically performed in the parking decks and lots. The Parking Attendant must occasionally work in extreme temperatures, may occasionally be exposed to respiratory hazards, and loud noises and vibrations.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of work experience, education, and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job.?

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED

One year of experience handling cash in a customer service environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Principles and practices of effective customer service

  • Parking deck operations and maintenance policies and procedures

  • Relevant town ordinances, policies, and procedures

  • Management and supervisory principles and practices

  • Cash processing methods; department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to personnel processes

  • Operate a computer and applications

  • Read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and with customers

  • Model behavior that is consistent with our Town values of RESPECT
