ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Park & Watercraft Manager 1 position within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, located at Great Council State Park in Greene County. What you will do…

  • Plan & manage all operations (e.g., budgetary, fiscal, staffing, facilities & equipment, safety, programming, etc.) of Great Council State Park.

  • Oversee Great Council, which features a 12,000-square-foot interpretive center with an architectural design based on the traditional council house form that was historically used by the Shawnee tribes. This will include three floors of exhibits, a theater area, a living stream, and a gallery.

  • Establish park goals & priorities, preserving Ohio's historical, cultural and natural resources.

  • Serve as a direct supervisor.

  • Provide exceptional customer service & manage stakeholder relationships

  • Coordinate activities with other park districts, ODNR division/offices & outside entities.

  • Starting hourly pay of $29.49/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $42.01/hr.
