PARK MAINTENANCE CHIEF II - INLAND EMPIRE / Facilities Development / District Office/lake perris state recreation area

The reporting location for this position is the Inland Empire District Headquarters located at 17801 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA 92571. This position will work under the direction of the District Superintendent.

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent person to join our State Parks team. This is a very diverse assignment full of challenges that include oversight of maintenance operations for Silverwood Lake, Providence Mountains, Lake Perris State Recreation Area, Wildwood Canyon State Property, San Timoteo State Property, Mount San Jacinto State Park, California Citrus State Historic Park, and Chino Hills State Park. The incumbent would have direct supervision of the District Auto shop and Warehouse, and supervise a team of maintenance staff made up of both permanent and seasonal positions. This position also provides oversight and support for sectors and other programs within the district, and supports the administration of a variety of technical services in the District.

This position requires a valid class C driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

The incumbent must be able to pass a criminal background check and medical evaluation.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions

May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises as office is located in a State Park. Office and desk work as well as field visits, hiking to sites, working outdoors in all types of weather, altitudes, and seasons.
