Odyssey House is hiring support staff to work at our Parents with Children (Mothers and Fathers) Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Centers. These parents are receiving treatment and live with their children at our facility.

Position

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all new hire training within the time frame provided.
  • Become familiar with each client and conduct head counts throughout the night.
  • Learn processes, methodology, technologies, and consistently follow them.
  • Distribution of medication to clients.
  • Communicate with the Nursing Staff or Staff-On-Call as necessary.
  • Produce accurate Incident Reports concerning accidents, medical situations, or facility safety risk hazards.
  • Conduct urine analysis drug testing as necessary.
  • Conduct routine security checks.
  • Maintain both new and old treatment files.
  • Office cleaning, when necessary.
  • Follow the client schedule during shift.
  • Follow client safety and facility procedures.
  • Learn and adopt client de-escalation techniques and help clients vent their feelings appropriately.
  • Maintaining logs computer (record times of all security checks, headcounts, groups, SOC contacts)
  • Attend staff meetings and training.
  • Role model pro-social behaviors and appearance for clients

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must complete new hire paid training (CPR, first aid, behavior management,etc,)
  • Must have strong boundaries and be willing to enforce rules
  • Must love children, be patient and kind.

Qualifications * Ability to adapt to a physically demanding role that encompasses frequent lifting, climbing, squatting, and standing for long periods of time. * Ability to establish effective working relationships and maintain a positive and productive working atmosphere in a group environment; exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact when interacting with staff & public. Preferred Qualifications: * General knowledge of methods and techniques related to theatrical production. Familiar with basic stage directions, terminology and theatrical equipment and materials. * Working knowledge of design principles and the ability to translate specifications, blueprints or drawings into real-world solutions.
