POSITION OVERVIEW

Operating under the administrative oversight of the Clinical Director, the Parent Education Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of parenting education and early intervention programs, workshops, and services to support the prevention of child abuse neglect and maltreatment. This position is responsible for maintaining programmatic compliance and provision of direct services. The Parent Education Coordinator collaborates with the Clinical Director to strengthen service components, processes, and staffing while ensuring that all services provided are developmentally appropriate, hope centered, and trauma informed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate capacity for providing developmentally sensitive, evidence based, culturally sensitive, hope centered, and trauma informed services.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including setting performance expectations, monitoring progress, and providing regular feedback and coaching.

  • Facilitate professional development, training, and skill building activities for assigned staff.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop parent support services and plans, policies, and procedures reflective of best practices.

  • Monitor adherence to contractual regulations and work collaboratively with key program and standard-setting entities to assure integration and implementation of quality service delivery.

  • Abide by financial and programmatic reports to ensure proper adherence and accountability.

  • Assist with grant applications and new initiatives.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in child abuse prevention services and parenting support program components, including but not limited to intake and assessment, service plans, groups, parenting and community education, client advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, grant management, community partnerships, and program oversight.

  • Ensure that the most effective, evidence based, hope centered, and trauma informed services and curriculums are utilized.

  • Ensure supervised program components are in compliance with agency policy, accrediting and oversight bodies, contractual obligations, and meet reporting requirements, performance and outcome requirements, funding requirements, licensing, and best practice standards.

  • Assist in directing the daily operations of the assigned team and service components including but not limited to: supervision of staff; oversight of workloads, clientele, and productivity; staff hiring and oversight of new employee training and onboarding; documentation reviews and quality improvement issues; facilitation of staff team meetings; multidisciplinary team meetings; and other partnership contracts and services.

  • Implement regular content supervision of program staff including regular review and approval of documentation and workload.

  • Responsible for comprehensive training of staff and coordination of required ongoing trainings and certifications.

  • Collaborates to strategize and implement effective service delivery throughout the communities served, including agency sites.

  • Available for crisis consultation and/or routine case staffing while seeking consultation from Clinical Director, Senior Program Director or other designated leadership staff as needed while ensuring that critical incident/accident reports are completed in a timely manner.

  • Accurately complete all record keeping, documentation, and reporting functions in a timely manner as required by program and/or agency policy utilizing the agency designated EHR or other reporting systems.

  • Provide direct services to clients which may include referral, screening, assessment, service plan, progress notes or reports, and discharge services.

  • Assess client needs and provide appropriate referral and linkage to resources as necessary.

  • Responsible for implementing and facilitation of evidence based psychoeducational and rehabilitative groups, support groups, and development of support materials based on best practices.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, meetings and educational opportunities for clients and families.

  • Meet or exceed established productivity requirements for direct service requirements while monitoring staff compliance with established productivity expectations.

  • Responsible for the oversight of service marketability to community and community partners and client recruitment activities and events.

  • Represent Sunbeam in a professional manner, including community interactions, collaboration, and education to staff and community partners, and presentations (including media and in person), etc.

  • Maintain ongoing training and expertise in child abuse prevention and parenting education and intervention best practices through appropriate professional trainings, readings, attendance at workshops, and through consultation with other professionals.

  • Adhere to the Sunbeam Code of Ethics, HIPAA, and other confidentiality policies/practices while maintaining professional standards at all time.

  • Perform all duties and attend required training related to supervisor role.

  • Travel locally as required in the performance of responsibilities.

  • Perform other appropriate and related responsibilities as assigned by Senior Program Director, Chief Program Officer, or Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimally Required

Preferred

Education

Master's degree in social work, child development, psychology or related field

OR

Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field with two (2) years' experience.

Master's Degree in social work, child development or related field

License / Certification

Behavioral Health Case Management I or II (BHCM I or II) Certification through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services or Certification eligible within the first 90 days of employment.

Behavioral Health Case Management II (BHCM II) Certification through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in a social work setting for children, families, and/or adults.

Experience facilitating or teaching adult education groups.

Able to detect, discern, distinguish, observe, inspect and compare reports related to Health Requirements

Excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written

Intermediate knowledge of computer operations and applications, including Microsoft, and the ability to master other computer technology/software programs as needed

Willingness to work with high-risk, low-income communities

Valid Oklahoma driver's license and state required vehicle insurance for any vehicle used in performance of job duties

Advanced Microsoft application knowledge and skills

Advanced data collection and reporting skills

Bilingual Spanish/English speaking ability to interact with children and families from multilingual homes

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with staff and others, and must be able to exchange accurate information when doing so. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, attend meetings, etc. Must be able to operate and use a computer. Occasionally must be able to move needed materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

The employee will work in an office and community environments (which may include client homes), may work in close quarters with other staff. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud; frequent chaotic situations will occur, characteristic to working with children of all ages. Employee must expect exposure to strong odors such as soiled diapers and clothes, and poor hygiene. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
