Position Details:

  • Title: Part-time Occupational Therapist

  • Location: Mesa, AZ

  • Duration: Rest of the School Year 23-24

  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite

  • Position Type: Part Time

  • Working Hours: 40 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor, sensory, and cognitive abilities related to school performance.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and collaboration with the student's educational team.

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual or group settings.

  • Implement therapeutic interventions and strategies to support students' participation and success in the classroom and school environment.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate occupational therapy goals and strategies into the students' educational plans.

  • Monitor students' progress towards goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with the educational team and parents regarding progress and recommendations.

  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies to support students' sensory and motor needs in the classroom.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of occupational therapy services provided.

  • Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in occupational therapy and education through professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Arizona.

  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Knowledge of developmental milestones, sensory processing, and therapeutic interventions for children with diverse needs.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Dedication to promoting independence, inclusion, and success for all students.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in the field of occupational therapy and education.
