Position Details:
Title: Part-time Occupational Therapist
Location: Mesa, AZ
Duration: Rest of the School Year 23-24
Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
Position Type: Part Time
Working Hours: 40 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor, sensory, and cognitive abilities related to school performance.
Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and collaboration with the student's educational team.
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
Implement therapeutic interventions and strategies to support students' participation and success in the classroom and school environment.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate occupational therapy goals and strategies into the students' educational plans.
Monitor students' progress towards goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with the educational team and parents regarding progress and recommendations.
Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies to support students' sensory and motor needs in the classroom.
Maintain accurate documentation of occupational therapy services provided.
Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in occupational therapy and education through professional development activities.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Arizona.
Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
Knowledge of developmental milestones, sensory processing, and therapeutic interventions for children with diverse needs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Dedication to promoting independence, inclusion, and success for all students.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in the field of occupational therapy and education.
