The Day Habilitation program is looking for a full-time Paraprofessional/Transportation Monitor to provide instruction and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. One year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required. Minimum High School diploma or GED required. Candidates must submit to a qualifying criminal background check and motor vehicle record required as well as drug test.
SUMMARY: The employee transports program consumers to residences and day services as scheduled and serves as a paraprofessional when not transporting.
Transport or monitor individuals s as scheduled.
Assist individuals getting in and out of handicap accessible or other van.
Operate vehicle in keeping with all safety policies.
Perform regular inspections of vehicle.
Follow direction from Developmental Specialist regarding assignments.
Assist program participants with daily living skills.
Monitor program participants lunch and break periods.
Report observed changes in program participants activity and/or health.
Access and read Agency email account and Intranet at least weekly.

Knowledge of services to people with developmental disabilities, as evidenced by at least one year experience.
Knowledge obtained through attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to legally and safely operate a vehicle, including maintaining a valid drivers license.
Ability to assist individuals getting in and out of handicap accessible or other vehicle.Ability to work with developmentally disabled people.
Ability to communicate and work with others.
Ability to follow directions.
