Delano Public School Daily District Paraprofessional Sub (Grades PK-6)

Delano Schools is looking for a patient, caring, flexible person who can assist teachers in managing/monitoring student behaviors and provide assistance with academic work completion as well as functional skills.

Job Summary: The paraprofessional will support students with disabilities which may include academic, social, behavioral, and functional needs. The paraprofessional may work in mainstream classrooms or special education classrooms under the direction of licensed special education teachers. Additional duties may include supporting extracurricular activities or bus routes. On rare occasions this assignment may entail work in evenings or weekends. The paraprofessional will utilize their skills daily for the purposes of data collection and communication to support the needs of students. Multiple positions are available; candidates will be matched to their age and job specific preferences to the extent possible.

Location: The nature of this position is need based, meaning that the location can vary day to day. The individual will be based out of the elementary school as that is the building that will utilize this support most frequently. If there is not a need for a paraprofessional at the elementary school that day, the paraprofessional will be given an assignment at another building in the district.

Hours: 7:50 am- 2:50 pm (6.5 hours per day on all student contact days), 30 minute unpaid lunch. Specific start/end times may vary. Opportunities exist for paraprofessionals to assist with SPED transportation and/or extra-curricular activities to accrue additional hours.

Requirements: Associate Degree / equivalent or prior designation as a highly qualified paraprofessional. Alternatives to achieve highly qualified status are available. Salary Information: $19.50 - $20.78/hour (rates are subject to change pending the ratification of an updated contract)
