Under the direction of the District Dyslexia Specialist and the Assistant Superintendent, the Paraprofessional-Dyslexia Interventionist will plan and implement quality, multisensory dyslexia intervention using the Barton Reading and Spelling System in small group settings across multiple district campuses and external partner locations, for students who meet the eligibility guidelines.

Reports To: District Dyslexia Specialist and Assistant Superintendent

Contract Days: 180

Salary: To be determined by salary schedule

Education, Experience, Skills, and Certification: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Associate Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred, however, a passing score on the Paraprofessional Proficiency Assessment will substitute for the Associate Degree requirement
Must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position

Primary Performance Duties & Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction under the supervision of the District Dyslexia Specialist for students identified with Characteristics of Dyslexia as set by Arkansas state requirements at outlying facilities and across multiple campuses within the district..
Follow the district Dyslexia program's guidelines to implement with fidelity.
Maintain all paperwork, data management, folders, and progress monitoring required.
Frequently communicate with supervisors, teachers, and parents on student progress.
Attend and complete professional development requirements related to Dyslexia and other district processes/programs/protocols as needed and/or required.
