Job Description:
This employee will be primarily responsible for teaching the New York State EMS Educational Standards within the lab setting and serving as a practical skills exam evaluator at the SUNY Cobleskill Paramedic Program. The schedule will vary, however availability on Thursdays from 9 AM to 5 PM and/or Thursdays from 6 PM to 10 PM is preferred. Staff will be required to be available to work either the annual paramedic practical skills exam (usually held on the first Thursday of August from 0800 to 1700) or two (2) other practical skills exams during the course of each academic year.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Professional and ethical demeanor
Minimum of three (3) years actively providing care as a paramedic
Or one (1) year actively providing care as a paramedic and a CLI Internship through the SUNY Cobleskill Paramedic Program
Current New York State Bureau of EMS Paramedic certification
Currently-practicing paramedic provider
Current American Heart Association Provider certifications in
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (or equivalent)
Additional preferred criteria:
EMS teaching experience
Current New York State Bureau of EMS Certified Lab Instructor or Certified Instructor Coordinator
Current American Heart Association Instructor certifications in
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Experienced simulation mannequin operator
Experienced NYS & NREMT Practical Skills Exam Coordinator
AHA Regional Faculty member
Current New York State Bureau of EMS Regional Faculty Member
College Degree
Nationally Registered Paramedic with NREMT
