Summary:Working closely with EMT's, the paramedic will assess a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment. Will provide appropriate, efficient and timely prehospital basic life support care and transportation of the sick and injured community members located on the Tule River Indian Reservation in accordance with local, state and Tule River Indian Health Center, Inc.'s standard of care.

Duties:1. Provides Emergency Medical Services to preserve the health of the Tule River Community. 2.

Respond to BLS and ALS inter-facility transports, scene calls and 9-1-1. 3. Assess and monitor the condition of ill and/or injured patients. 4. Provide basic and advanced life support, including comprehensive patient assessment, invasive airway management, cardiac monitoring and administration of medications. 5.

Provide an immediate course of treatment in route to hospital or receiving facility. 6. Assess whether and how to move patients and when appropriate, the most appropriate destination. 7. Liaison with members of other facilities, such as police, fire, hospitals, and other ambulance services to ensure the appropriate level of response is provided. 8.

Interact with members of the general public as well as family members present at the scene. 9. Clean, decontaminate and check vehicles and equipment to maintain a state of operational readiness. 10. Assist with patient care in hospitals or health care centers. 11.

Produce thorough patient care reports including the patient's history, condition, and treatment. 12. Comfort and reassure patients. 13. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 14.

Drive emergency vehicles in stressful situations. 15.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must demonstrate a compassionate attitude towards all customers, their friends and family, and your coworkers. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2. Preferred 3 years of prehospital experience as a Paramedic. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 1. Successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment physical including drug and alcohol testing. 2. Maintains Current Tuberculosis test results. 3. Must have a clean DMV record and must be insurable by TRIHCI vehicle insurance provider. 4. Must be 18 years old. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 6. Must maintain current industry standards through continuing education. 7. Must have the following certifications: • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification-Provider • Current California Paramedic Card • Medical Examiner's Card • California Driver License • California Ambulance Driver License • CCEMSA Paramedic Accreditation • PALS or PEPP • ACLS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CONTINGENCIES: TRIHCI maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace, and all offers of employment are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check, a post-offer drug test and physical, COVID-19 and TB test, and verification of each candidate's right to work in the United States.
