About the Position: Kimbrough is the headquarters of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC), Fort George G. Meade, includes a number of U.S. Army health clinics, occupational health clinics, telemedicine, behavioral health, allergen extract lab, drug testing labs, and environmental health clinics at several installations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, & District of Columbia. Kimbrough provides primary care, selected specialty care & same day surgery for TRICARE Prime patients.

Respond on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses, sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.
Perform procedures, as required, and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols.
Conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition and searches for medical alert symbols.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience responding to accidents or emergencies involving injuries and/or illnesses; (2) experience conducting examinations to obtain patient vital signs; (3) experience initiating intravenous (IV) therapy; and (4) operating a patient transport vehicle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
