CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision, education and evaluation of students as assigned by the Program Director.

  • Review and abide aby student handbook policies.

  • Attend scheduled in-service meetings and department meetings as scheduled.

  • Collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure that syllabi are being followed, learning objectives are being met, and formative and summative evaluation strategies are employed to enhance the learning process.

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty.

  • Work outside regular business hours might be expected.

  • Occasional in state travel may be anticipated.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General supervision is received from the Program Director, Paramedicine Education.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

None

Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 2-4 years of experience in paramedic field or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Vermont Paramedic License or Vermont Registered Nurse License with EMS experience required.

  • Knowledge of course content being delivered.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and flexible decision-making capabilities.

  • Team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast -paced environment.

  • Ability to work with all levels of students as well as internal faculty and staff.

  • Ability to endure considerable walking, standing and lifting while instructing/supervising students.

  • Ability to deal effectively with and represent the College to a broad range of individuals and groups within and outside of the College.

  • All required immunizations must be up to date.

  • Valid Vermont driver's license.
