Surgery Partners is seeking a Corporate Paralegal. The Corporate Paralegal will support the Chief Legal Officer, VP/Senior Legal Counsel and Corporate Counsel to increase capacity of Surgery Partners' legal department which serves a broad range of healthcare providers across the country.
Core Job Duties:
Serve as point of contact for business units for starting transaction processes; manage transaction flow from inception to completion
Maintain detailed log tracking multiple and varied transactions from start to finish
Responsible for reporting on transaction status to various corporate departments
Interact with internal and external business units on facility lease renewals and leases for new locations across the enterprise
Utilize web-based lease database to track, manage and prioritize key expiration dates for lease documents
Assist in regulatory submissions and filings
Review and prepare correspondence
Preparation of reports
Creation and management of paper and electronic files and databases
Organizing, prioritizing and coordinating workflow
Assist in drafting cover letters and other correspondence
Assist in compiling and maintaining filing system for legal documents
Maintain strictest confidentiality, trustworthiness, and integrity always
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for this position:
Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Experience working in corporate legal setting is preferred. This is not a litigation role.
Proven recent experience supporting corporate attorneys in in-house legal department or large law firm.
Must have a good understanding of legal terminology.
Ability to plan and prioritize a high volume of work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills, problem solving and ability to compose correspondence and reports.
Independent thinking, ability to interpret policies and procedures and skilled in interpersonal relationships.
Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, file and database management.
Knowledge of scheduling programs, e-mail, and voice mail.
Able to adapt to changes in priorities and can accommodate unplanned activities readily.
