2.Other paralegal work as assigned.
1.Bachelor's degree with a major in paralegal, legal assistant studies, or pre-law, and two years of paralegal or legal assistant experience that included application of research and analysis to draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, briefs, and other legal documents. Work experience as a Certified Legal Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
2.Preference will be given to applicants who have a bachelor's degree in paralegal and experience in civil litigation or related fields.
3.Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage detailed information efficiently and accurately.
4.Demonstrated excellent legal research and legal writing skills.
5.High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
6.Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7.Interpersonal skills necessary to work well with co-workers and others.
8.Judgment and reliability necessary to provide excellent paralegal services to the state of North Dakota.
9.Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks, and standard background and criminal record checks to determine knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform paralegal tasks.
