Responsibilities

If selected for this position, you will serve as a Paralegal Specialist with the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Washington. Typical work assignments will include:

  • Review and organize complex factual material and other documentary data for investigations and trials.

  • Research, analyze and summarize a variety of relevant legal precedence including cite checking.

  • Provide advice on the most efficient and effective ways to organize, prepare, present and maintain a variety of legal documents.

  • Prepare a variety of substantive legal documents to include extradition requests, grand jury and trial subpoenas, and documentation relevant to acquiring evidence or testimony.

  • Monitor pending cases and initiate action to insure that the necessary legal actions are prepared within established deadlines.

  • Develop and enter various case material into case management system.

  • Provide litigation case management and organizes cases for court presentation by preparing exhibits for trial using automated presentation software.

  • Provide a variety of administrative support to assigned attorneys.

Qualifications

GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing legal work which demonstrates knowledge of legal research and the ability to interpret legal decisions. Examples of specialized experience include conducting legal research using various databases; drafting a variety of legal documents such as briefs, memoranda of law, summons, and pleadings; and assembling exhibits for trial.

Education: One (1) full year of progressively higher level graduate education (18 semester hours or the number of units your school uses to describe one graduate year of academic study) leading to a master's degree, LL.B or JD, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do Paralegal Specialist work; OR a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement (a 3.0 and above GPA, membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies, or a standing in the upper third of your graduating class or major subdivision).

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.

GS-9 : To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing paralegal or legal work which demonstrates a basic knowledge of legal research and the ability to interpret legal decisions. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: examining and processing a variety of legal documents; conducting research, analysis and evaluation of data in response to complex or sensitive requests; drafting briefs, pleadings, litigation recommendations, or other legal documents and correspondence; using a variety of electronic or manual filing systems to acquire and store information; document findings and preparing recommendations; searching and reviewing legal references, case files, and other sources for information and data required by attorneys or court personnel.

Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law): a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.

This position partners with the field sales teams in creating a strategy to achieve this goal. The Client Solutions Specialist will educate customers on the Manheim Express Marketplace, and actively seek opportunities to grow the relationship by consistently outstanding service that will meet the dealer's business needs. The Client Solutions Specialist II will manage assigned customer relationships for Manheim Express customers with the goal of providing a personalized experience. The Client Solutions Specialist will ensure that we deliver a personalized, low-effort, positive experience to our dealer customer by proactively collaborating with field sales teams, other Manheim companies, customers and local auction departments in order to ensure that customers' expectations are met or exceeded. Primary Duties: * Reviews customers' performance and recommends solutions for improving conversion rate and/or market share. * Conduct thorough assessment of vehicle condition following the Manheim Express Inspection process. * Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer's lots safely. * Understand basic NAAA frame/structure guidelines as well as common vehicle condition flaws and how to identify them. * Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles including, powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components. * Understand basic vehicle valuation methods and guide dealers on GFB and floor pricing. * Develop and strengthen relationships with dealers over the phone, online, at the auction through planned contact and meetings. * Partners with sales in educating, selling and training customers on Manheim Express products and services. * Collaborates with customer account team to identify opportunities for growth. * Generates leads to other channels (Next Gear, notification of newly registered dealers to sales, etc.) * Collaborates with Sales to plan, execute, and follow-up on targeted accounts. * Utilizes SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input and customer performance reviews. * Inform and educate dealers of changes in auction policies and procedures. * Demonstrates professionalism and sincere appreciation for the business relationships that have been established amongst the dealers and Manheim. * Functions as a solid team player and work closely with teammates, field sales, and customer care to create a superior customer experience. * Works with manager to ensure a consistent and effective online and in-lane customer experience, appropriate transaction processing, high customer satisfaction and service levels. * Visibly demonstrates safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. * Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience required. * 3+ years Auction experience or dealership experience strongly preferred. * Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. * Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required. * Ability to engage customers in a consultative manner. * Motivated and ability to work with remote supervision. * Solid computer skills, including ability to use Internet and MS Office effectively. * Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment. * Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required. * Ability to perform repetitive tasks; manual dexterity. * Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception. * Ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
